Vince Harrison - Winnipeg Goldeyes
This Northern League All-Star lead all third basemen in total chances, putouts, assists and double plays in the last two N. L. seasons. Vince homered in his 2009 Goldeyes debut and is best-known for starting the famous September 14, 2009 triple play - fans were thrilled at this Goldeyes Franchise first! Vice consistently scores in the top four N. L. batting and on-base percentage slots and is a fan favorite where ever he goes.
Vince participated in the Maples KidPro Baseball Clinic on May 22, 2010, and gave Maples, Red River and Vince Leah club players the clinic of their lives!

Wes Long - Winnipeg Goldeyes
Wes earned an All-Star spot in the Nothern League's 2009 season and distiguished himself as the NL Rawlings Player of Month after hitting .413 with .439 on-base and .587 slugging percentages. Also in 2009 Wes batted a team-leading .440 (22/50) against Kansas City. Committing just four errors in 160 chances in 2009, Wes earned an astonishing .975 fielding percentage with a .450 hitting with running on base.
Wes has a reputation as one of the top Pro/Clinicans in baseball and he proved it at the Maples KidPro Baseball Clinic on May 22, 2010.

Kevin West - Winnipeg Goldeyes
Kevin's recent 37 home runs are the most for any Goldeyes hitter over two seasons since 1998-99. With 41 extra-base hits and 184 total bases last year, Kevin earned fifth spot in the competitive and talented-rich Northern League. In addition to his skill and athleticism in outfield, Kevin recently debuted on the mound with a 2/3rds scoreless inning in his 2009 pitching debut.
Kevin also graced our community centre on May 22, 2010 as part of our KidPro Baseball clinic.

Ibrahim "Obby" Khan - Blue Bombers
Obby was the Bomber's first pick (2nd overall) in the 2006 CFL draft and he started all 18 2009 season games for the Bombers. That same year the talented and powerful offensive lineman went on to win the Ed Kotowich Good Guy Award - the second for Obby - which recognizes excellence in football ability, team camaraderie and extraordinary community effort. Obby's tireless efforts in support of child and youth amateur sports and other charitable programs make him a community legend and champion!
Ibrahim comes to us as part of the Maples Obby Khan Youth Rugby Program that launches in 2010!

Jill Officer - World Champion Curler
Jill was Jennifer Jones' pick as Team Second going back to their Junior curling days and since, Officer, a native of Winnipeg, has played in five Scotties Tournaments (four gold medals and one silver)and two World Championships(one gold and one bronze).
We were fortunate to have Jill visit with us at Maples on May 29, 2010, as part of our RBC Foundation cricket park funding announcement; her inspirational speech stirred the kids, volunteers, media and guests alike!
