Maples Karate News New Equipment Courtesy of GCWCC Program Grant and MRAI Funding We're pleased to announce that the Maples Karate program has been awarded $3,350.00 as part of the General Council of Winnipeg Community Centres' Program grant process.The Maples Recreation Association has also committed $500.00 and the combined money will used to purchase new Karate equipment. The investment will enrich the program by providing students with valuable training and sparring tools while creating a foundation with which the program can grow by attracting new students. The new equipment will add two new hanging punching bags, one free-standing bag and a selection of sparring equipment. Emphasis will be placed on purchasing smaller sizes to accomodate more child and youth participants. Thanks goes out to our star instructor Jamie Reyes and the MRAI board for their outstanding contributions to the Maples Karate program!
