Maples KidPro With the Goldeyes 2011 - More Kids and Fun than Ever!
Maples Community Centre, May 28, 2011 - Over 40 registrants (36 attended) from baseball clubs across Winnipeg had the chance to mix it up with Goldeyes stars Mike Williams, Price Kendall and Isaac Hess at Maples KidPro Baseball 2011. Sunshine, smiles and skills testing made up the day with lucky participants scoring game tickets.
Players aged eight to 15 participated in the 2011 event with youngsters enjoying a blend of skills development, inspiration and fun in what turned out to be – despite a cold and overcast start – a wonderfully warm and sunny day. Maples, Red River, Fort Garry, Gateway, Charlsewood, North Kildonan, Tuxedo and Greendale players attended.
The event is in its second year of existence and camp registrants numbered greater than last year’s inaugural event. “It’s gratifying”, say Maples organizers about the event’s growing popularity. The camp promotes child and youth regional club baseball by connecting youngsters with their sports heroes.
As part of its value-adding KidPro series, Maples organizers also sponsor an NBA excursion in the fall which includes on-court practice at the Target Center, Minneapolis and an NBA game. “We try to create memories that last a lifetime”, states Tom Barak about the organization’s philosophy.
