Maples 2011 Hockey Conditioning Camps

Attention - Please note scheduling changes.

  • September 10 - 25, 2011
  • Registration is $100.00 per person (9 hours) and $45.00 for goalies
  • Fee includes a full 4 on 4 game in the 9th hour

Register early at Maples Community Centre, 434 Adsum Drive, or call Erwin at 694-1513.

Body Check Clinic and Pre-Season 4 on 4 Games Announced

The Body Contact Clinic is for 12 and 13 year-olds and is styled after the USA Coaching Education program which introduces players to body contact. The program runs from Aug 29 - Sept 2, 2011 at the Maples Multiplex Arena. Space is limited so parents are encouraged to register their children as soon as possible.

4 on 4 Pre-Season Games give players aged 9 - 15 the chance to shake off the cob webs and rink rust and get in some extra practice before try-outs and the regular season. There are two sessions which run from Aug 22 - Sept 3 and the games will be played at the Maples Multiplex Arena.

2011/12 Winter Hockey and Ringette Registration Announced

Registrations for the 2011/12 winter season for all SOMHA hockey players and Maples Ringette girls will occur on Aug. 25, 30 and Sept. 8, 2011, at Red River Community Centre from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Maples players and parents do not register at Maples! Please go to Red River Community Centre (293 Murray Avenue) on the dates and times indicated.

Try Ringette Event Announced!

Come try Ringetter Poster.

Maples hosts Come Try Ringette on September 11, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the Maples Multiplex arena, 454 Adsum Drive, Winnipeg. Come watch a AA game prior to the event at 11:45am. Volunteers will be in attendance to answer any questions and handouts on costs, rules and equipment requirements will be available.

Maples Boys Baseball PeeWees take City
and NW Winnipeg Championships

The Monarch Boys PeeWee 2011 team went 5 wins and no losses in city playoffs. The championship game was on July 13, 2011, resulting in a 14-7 win over the Macdonald Mets(who at that point were unbeaten for the season). The game featured superb pitching by Maples pitchers Brittney Langlais and Brandon Lavalee as well as some timely hits by all Maples batters.

Coaches Erwin Harmatski, Sylvain Lizotte and Dave Johnson had nothing but praise for the effort put forth by the entire Maples team.

The team also won the North Winnipeg Regional Peewee A Hardball Championship with a record of 4 wins and 0 losses. The team finished first overall in the NWMBA season with a 11-1-1 record.

2011 Pre-season Ringette Camps and Clinics Announced

Time to shake off the summer cobwebs and rink rust and get a jump on the 2011/2012 season! A series of camps will be offered for girls aged 5 and up featuring skating, passing and shooting skills development as well as conditioning and agility training.
