2011 Mini-Soccer Jamboree

Our huge mini-soccer jamboree returns for another great year! This year's event is being held at VINCE LEAH COMMUNITY CENTRE 1295 SALTER. Please view or download game schedules below. Over 40 registrants from clubs across the city had the chance to mix it up with Goldeyes stars Mike Williams, Price Kendall and Isaac Hess at Maples KidPro Baseball 2011. Sunshine, smiles and skill testing made up the day with lucky participants scoring game tickets.

Maples Announces Two New Programs!

1. A free senior’s exercise class starts on Feb 17, 2011 at Maples; sponsored by the Seven Oaks Senior’s Links (SOSL) in cooperation with the Maples Community Centre. Classes will be on Thursday mornings from 10:30 – 11:30 in the Maples gymnasium. Please call Susan at 612-3888 for more information.

2. Signing classes for pre-schoolers will also be offered at Maples in cooperation with Signing Stars Winnipeg. Classes will be held once a week during daytime hours at the Maples community centre. Dates and times will be posted shortly.

We welcome both of our new service partners to the Maples family and we’re pleased to add these great new offerings to our programming line-up. Now there’s no excuse not to get active!

On November 18, 2010 we packed 44 Maples Basketball players and friends into a Beaver Bus Lines highway coach and ventured to Minneapolis, MN to take in a Lakers versus Timberwolves game at the Target Center.

The trip included two nights stay in the plush Weston Minneapolis and an hour of practice time on court at the Target Center prior to the game.

All participants arrived safely - if not a bit tired out - on Nov 20, 2010 after their amazing trip and early reports say everyone had a blast. No major glitches and the itinerary went off relatively uneventful. The Lakers won 112 to 95.

Special thanks to our basketball Convenor Lisa Jitoboh and her daughter Meghan for their hard work in organizing and supervising the trip.
